Mango meeting a raccoon

It’s the first day of 2009 and i thought the day would end just like most other days: uneventful. I took Mango for his last walk of the day. As i was making him take a dump in a patch of relatively clean-looking grassy area, i accidentally dropped the leash. Almost immediately, Mango started running around the patch of grass, wanting me to play chase with him. Even it was late at night, i knew a car would drive by every few minutes. So i gave Mango the command to sit. After several seconds, he sat down. As i was walking closer to him, i noticed that he was starting to take off. So i stepped my foot down on the leash. Mango started screaming and whining, and he was behaving like a bronco. Since i had not had a good grab of the leash, i did not want to take my foot off. Mango got tangled up pretty good. It took me several seconds to get him untangled.

After Mango got done with his business, i took him back home. In the parking garage, i decided to let him off the leash. He was walking in front of me until he saw something dashing ahead of him. It was a raccoon. Immediately, Mango went after the poor raccoon, forcing him to climb up a tree. Mango was barking and circling under the tree. With Smelly’s help, we managed to get Mango back into the house.

I took a few pictures of the stranded raccoon on the tree.

Stranded raccoon.
Stranded raccoon.

The raccoon is giving you a raspberry for not being able to even get close to him.

I just realized that the damn raccoon was giving me the tongue, it’s like it was saying “I am up here and you are down there.”
