Does anyone know if this module works for streaming video and viewing images from a YES box on a TV with a wireless AV server connected? I'm thinking of getting a YES box and an AV streamer to connect to my wireless router but am not into mp3 and would use it for my photo/video collection.

Hi Ktula!

Thank you for a lot of great articles on the Thecus N2100!

I am am true newbie when it comes to the N2100 and NAS-devices, and this is a comment meant for other newbies wondering how to actually use the modules you find on the net for the N2100 (f.ex. the ushare uPnP AV server). There is no info to be found about this on the net - probably because it is so easy:

1. Download the module, and unpack it (you should end up with a .mod-file)
2. Login to your N2100
3. In the System menu, choose Module Mgmt. (FW 2.1.01)
4. Use the Browse button on the Module menu to locate your file. Click on Install.
5. After a while (waiting for the file to upload) you should get the module listed as installed. Tick off the small box to the left of the module name, and click the Enable/Disable button to enable the it. The enable status should change from No to Yes.
6. Click on the module name for module settings.
7: ushare module: Write the name you would like for your N2100 uPnP AV server, or accept the default. Choose the folder of your media files, or accept the default iTunes folder. Click on Submit.

Done!

The ushare module was up and running on my N2100 in two minutes, and the N2100 was instantly recognized by my Noxon 2 player as a uPnP media source.
