It’s Ramen time!

I’m in Philadelphia on a business trip so i decided to make good use of this opportunity to visit Masaharu Morimoto’s restaurant in downtown Philly. Morimoto, the legendary chef from the wildly popular Japanese cooking battle show “Iron Chef“, is one of the three Iron Chefs in “Iron Chef America“. The restaurant is simply named Morimoto. Since i don’t know when i’ll be back again, i decided to blow away my 3 days’ worth of per diem on the Omakase, an 8-course tasting meal. According to the Morimoto website, Omakase is “a multi-course tasting menu designed to allow you to experience the essence of Morimoto’s cuisine.” All 8 dishes, including the two desserts, were absolutely delicious. In addition to the good food, i also enjoyed the modern-looking surrounding of the restaurant and the fluorescent-yellow glass bar top, where i sat. At any moment, there were at least 6 Japanese chefs working feverishly behind the sushi bar, making plates after plates of sushi. By the time i left the restaurant, my wallet was $136-dollars thinner. I guess it’s ramen for me for the rest of the month !
